SANPADA FLYOVER
The Sanpada flyover photos shown in the collage are in clockwise order.
The Sanpada flyover has given the residents of Sanpada every reason to rejoice. The flyover connects Sanpada to Palm Beach Road, thus improving the connectivity of Sanpada node with the rest of Navi Mumbai. Problems with flooded subways and oversized vehicles getting stuck in the subway (resulting in a major traffic block) were a nightmare to Sanpada residents.
The opening of the flyover to all vehicles including heavy vehicles, and two NMMT bus routes already plying on this route via Millennium Towers to Vashi has eased the traffic at Sanpada subway. The flyover is a boon to the residents of Sanpada.
Must be a great relief, then. Traffic congestion is never fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the Flyover. We need one here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit,
Troy
I thought "flyover" meant photos from an airplane, but obviously you use the word as meaning what we call a "bridge." Great post.
ReplyDeleteI lived in a city for ten years and drove through the city roads...now I dislike any built up driving as I have lost practice and experience.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, we call them flyovers too! I asked an American friend what they call the elevated highways and he just looked at me strangely as if it never occurred to him that it had to have a different name from "highway." ;D
ReplyDeleteFlyovers have been sprouting up all over Metro Manila, but in my opinion, they're only going to ease traffic for a year or two unless the government shows some spine by creating a program that will reduce the number of cars.
flyover have really been a boon in mumbai..
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard that term before. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteYou sound very happy to have this Flyover.
ReplyDeleteBear((( )))
Hey Anu!
ReplyDeleteLong long time.
the blog is filled so many contests and challenges that you have taken up... makes it even more interesting and inspiring.
Flyovers are definitely a boon to the Indian cities. Would soon post a Delhi flyover too.
An example of 'successful' progress. Great that the flyover has improved city life.
ReplyDeleteYou must have taken the photo early in the day - no other cars??

Such interesting shots and great to know the sociology behind them :)
ReplyDeleteGood shots to illustrate your story. Here in California I just heard a news story about a flyover to be inaugurated today at (over) a nearby highway. It was the first time I had heard "flyover" used in the USA in that context.
ReplyDeletegreat post
ReplyDeleteFlyovers are sure a good thing to have, I am sure... good post for the ABC Wednesday! Very nice.
