A statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj built in front of Juhu Beach
Shivaji Maharaj was the famous Maratha (of Maharashtra) king in the 17th century, when India was being ruled by Mughals. He had courage to challenge the Mughal empire single-handedly, as he wanted freedom for the country. An able warrior and leader with far- sightedness, he saw the dangers of foreign domination and acted quickly to control it.

  3. Do you find this more interesting as a B&W than the colour version. I certainly do - it is less of a postcard shot and concentrates the eye.
