Sabudana Khichdi is seasoned sago and potato. It is a Maharashtrian breakfast dish and enjoyed with a dash of lime over it. It can be served with coconut-coriander chutney or mango pickle and yogurt.
This is my Krrish's favourite breakfast, and over the last couple of months I've almost mastered it though my khichdi sometimes becomes sticky.

I've always enjoyed the marsala dosa at the Taj...
ReplyDeleteNot what I'm used to for breakfast but I'd love to eat this. Sure it's totally delicious.
ReplyDeleteSounds very tart, from the lime, chutney & yogurt. Between the potato and the sago, I'm sure it's difficult not to make it sticky!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting looking dish and story about the ingredients.
ReplyDeleteI like the photograph of the dish as well.
It's delicious and nutritious too.

Yummy! This one is tempting me and wouldn't probably ruin my diet nor the cholesterol reduction programme...
ReplyDeleteWell, I'll keep looking around in Provence at Blogtrotter avoiding to enter the kitchen... ;)
Looks like a good breakfast...an interesting combination.

Wonderful photo of this yummy dish! Here in the States potatos are a fave part of breakfast, too, so this is familiar with a twist. I'd like to try it,

ReplyDeleteI belong to a Sindhi family, married to a Marwari brahmin, and my mom-in-law spent a major part of her childhood in Punjab. I live in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Also, my hubby's sister has married a Tamil boy.
All these factors have influenced my cooking greatly, and my husband loves to try new dishes. So, I came up with Anu's Kitchen. I'll atleast post one recipe a week.
Some ingredients look like pearl. I'd love to try this!
