Gulmohar- Delonix Regia

The gulmohar, also known as Flame Tree is covered with clusters of flame red flowers. Finally I've posted a flower whose name I'm sure of.
Tomorrow, the 16th of June, we complete the 100th post. Posted by Picasa

  2. You have some wonderful plants; many are new to me and probably wouldn't grow in England unless protected.

  4. I think your photo of this tree with so many bright red flowers is very good. I like it. I have not seen or heard of this tree before. Does it then have a fruit or a nut after the flowers?

  10. Do I have the synonyms for you. I will post my poinciana tomorrow. But it probably will not be the last one that I post. Every place you look, you find magnificent trees ablaze in color.

  11. I know the name "Flame Tree" only from the title of a book that was very popular here (but which I've never read): The Flame Trees of Thika: Memories of an African Childhood by Elspeth Huxley. Never knew what it looked like, though. Great photos.
