ABC Wednesday - 'G' for GATEWAY OF INDIA

The Gateway Of India is a major landmark in Mumbai. It is the most famous and most photographed monument of Mumbai. It was built as a triumphal arch in 1911 by the British government to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India.

Behind the arch, there are steps leading down to the water. Here you can get into one of the motor launches for a short cruise through Mumbai's harbour.
'G' for 'Ganesha'
The 10 day Ganesh Chaturthi festival begins today, and for the next few days, I will post about the festivities in Mumbai.
'G' for 'Guavas'
Yellow & Green Guavas
Guavas are in season again and are selling on handcarts in every nook and corner of the city. They are called 'poor man's fruit' as they are available for Rs. 2 to Rs. 10 depending on the size and quality.
Some facts:
Rich source of vitamin C
Good for skin, digestive system, heart
Effective antioxidant
