Matka

The 'matka' is an earthen pot, a vessel traditionally used to store water.
It is popular even today, especially in summers for its quality of cooling, to store drinking water. Small sized matkas are very popular for rabdi( dessert), yoghurt and malai kulfi.
These pots are available at the plant nurseries.

  1. Nice photograph. I also liked to read your description. It makes the photo much more meaningful when we know what it is we are looking at. Nice post.
