Weekend In Black & White : 13 # Vashigaon Subway

VASHI GAON SUBWAY

This is the new subway on the Sion Panvel highway near Vashi village (Vashi gaon). Still under construction and not officially open, we decided to cross the highway from this subway below. 

The subway connects Vashi gaon to the fishermen village area, near the old Shiv temple all the way to Sagar Vihar, where I clicked my best sunset so far.

This is when I convinced hubby and Krrish to come along for a photography adventure in the interior and unexplored areas of Vashi, and thats how I got my last month's theme photo of the fishing boats in the sea, near the fishermen village.

Hubby and Krrish were tired of wandering in the sun, and hungry too. See how they were making funny actions and gestures in the subway so that I stop clicking or get a funny photo in the end.

This is another view of the sky I showed you last week. I cannot resist taking a picture of the Juinagar Foot Over Bridge whenever I visit Juinagar Station in Navi Mumbai.

ABC Wednesday - 'C' for Central Park

Central Park at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai is a huge park filled with landscaped gardens, an artificial pond with a fountain, an amphitheatre, musical and dance sculptures, jogging track and also children's park. With ample parking space and fresh clean air away from the city pollution, it will be the 3rd largest park in Asia after it is fully developed.

This fountain in the artificial pond is one of the many fountains here, and it looks much prettier when lighted after dark.

Saturday Photohunters Theme : ROAD

This is the Juinagar Foot Over Bridge in Navi Mumbai near Juinagar Railway Station.

It was constructed by SPACPL, who received the Most Outstanding Bridge National Award (Aesthetics), Indian Institution of Bridge Engineers, 1997, for this bridge.

This octagonal-section twin-arch reinforced concrete pedestrian foot-bridge spans 65m across the Sion-Panvel Expressway, near Juinagar Railway Station.

Short flights of steps near the start of each ramp, and climbing up the arch profile on either side of the horizontal, are intended to discourage motor-cyclists from riding over the ramps and the bridge.

Juinagar Foot Over Bridge

The bridge you see in the photo is the Juinagar Foot Over bridge over the National Highway 4.

I have taken the photo from Juinagar Railway Station Complex. The bridge is hidden by trees and I could not get a view of the full bridge.

I will show you the same bridge in tomorow's Skywatch Friday & Saturday's Photohunt-Road.

Saturday Photo Hunter Theme: Beautiful

Navi Mumbai's Railway Stations are one of the very few stations in India which boast of beautiful infrastructure.

Juinagar Railway Station

Juinagar is a railway station in Navi Mumbai, the twin city of Navi Mumbai and one of the largest planned cities in the world. Juinagar Station Complex is located in sector 11 of Sanpada node and is adjoining to Sion-Panvel Highway. Station complex consists of shopping area on the ground floor and well-integrated shops/ office premises on the first and second floors. This station caters for three corridors viz. Mankhurd-Belapur, Thane-Turbhe-Nerul & Thane-Nerul-Uran.

Navi Mumbai

Conceived in the 1970's, Navi Mumbai was seen as an alternate urban settlement on the mainland that would remain accessible to the island city. It would be the new twin city designed within the Bombay Metropolitan region to facilitate the decongestion of Bombay (now Mumbai).
CIDCO was formed in 1971 for planning, development and maintenance of
the city.
The city boasts of Reliance Infocomm's Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City
and many IT companies like Wipro Ltd., Tata Consultancy Service and
ICICI Infotech.
The well-planned transportation network consisting of Road, Rail and
Waterway systems makes Navi Mumbai easily accessible from all parts of
the country. The proposed Domestic cum International Airport is
envisaged to further enhance this accessibility.
