Being born and brought up in Mumbai, Mumbai Local Train is very much an important part of my world just like any other Mumbaikar. So, I choose to share this photo of a crowded train in the morning peak hours, as my first photo of 'my world'.
Mumbai local train is the lifeline of Mumbai. You might not find a Mumbai resident who has never travelled by train atleast once. From the children of age 3 to senior citizens, each one will have their tale to tell about their experiences while travelling by local train.
It looks dangerous because the doors are open. I am sure those travellers have many stories to tell!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great start for MyWorld - of course we would like to see more! :)
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
A nice peek into your world. I didn't ride a train until I was 30, and I don't think I have since. such a different way of life.
ReplyDeleteNo one travels by train here anymore.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! I knew that the trains were overcrowded, but this looks very dangerous, here in Holland, it is absolutely forbidden to open the doors when the train is moving. In the movie of Gandhi we saw people sitting on the roofs of the train. I suppose that doesn't happen in India now, does it?
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! Thanks for your visit.
I like your world you ahre on the other nemes, so will be interesting to see what you show us like this busy scene.
ReplyDeleteMy what a full train you have in your city. Very nice shot of a neat place.
ReplyDeleteThat looks to be too close quarters for me. You captured the essence very well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the honesty of your post.At rush hour it must feel like being in a can of sardines, but I'm sure people still keep their sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting shot, do you ever get travellers on the roof as in other areas
ReplyDeletei just admire the spirit of mumbai ... and local trains form the lifeline !! heard great about them from all friends ... nice blog :)

ReplyDeleteHope to see more of your world in the coming weeks.
